Wound vac (NPWT) support

Help with a wound vac at home or in a facility.

Negative-pressure wound therapy — a ‘wound vac’ — can speed healing for the right wounds. We set it up, manage it, and make sure it’s actually working for you.

Often treated at homeAcross the Metro EastWe coordinate your care

A wound vac uses gentle suction through a sealed dressing to draw out fluid, reduce swelling, and pull the edges of a wound together. It’s a powerful tool for deeper or harder-to-heal wounds — but only when it’s applied correctly, the seal holds, and someone’s watching the wound’s progress closely.

That ongoing management is exactly what trips people up at home. Our clinicians handle dressing changes, troubleshoot leaks and alarms, track healing, and coordinate the equipment so the therapy does its job.

We help when

  • A wound vac was started in the hospital and needs ongoing management at home
  • Dressing changes are due and need a clinician
  • The unit keeps alarming or losing its seal
  • It’s unclear whether the wound is actually improving
  • A facility needs reliable NPWT support for a resident

What care looks like

How we help this heal.

We assess

We confirm the wound is right for negative-pressure therapy and that it’s set up properly.

We treat

We perform dressing changes, keep the seal intact, and handle leaks and alarms.

We coordinate

We track the wound’s progress and adjust the plan as it heals.

We follow through

We coordinate the equipment and supplies so there are no gaps in therapy.

When to seek help fast: Heavy fresh bleeding into the canister or tubing is not normal — turn to your emergency instructions and call 911 if bleeding is significant.
